In a rather unique All-Star wrinkle, right-hander Jeff Samardzija was selected to the NL team despite his trade to the Oakland Athletics.
As a result, Samardzija will not be eligible to compete in next week's game at Target Field.
Though Jeff Samardzija has been traded to an AL club, he is considered a member of the NL squad and will receive full All-Star honors. (1/2)
