Braves' Floyd undergoes season-ending elbow surgery

Evan Habeeb / USA TODAY Sports

The Atlanta Braves will be without right-hander Gavin Floyd for the remainder of the campaign, as the 31-year-old underwent surgery Wednesday to repair a fractured elbow bone.

Floyd suffered the injury during his start against the Washington Nationals June 19, and was placed on the disabled list the following day. Floyd, who missed most of the 2013 season recovering from Tommy John surgery, crafted a 2.65 ERA over nine starts with the Braves in 2014.
