Chafin, 22, has a 77:20 K:BB in 58.2 innings through 10 starts at High-A Visalia this season.
Given his age, the D-Backs were comfortable starting him off in the California League and Chafin appears to be on the brink of a promotion to Double-A as he's done a nice job of keeping the ball in the park while limiting the free passes as well in his first full professional season. In a system loaded with quality pitching, Chafin could move quickly if he continues to show advanced polish.
