Athletics' Matt Joyce: Has X-ray on toe

Joyce, who is out of Saturday's lineup, had an X-ray on his left big toe after fouling a ball off it in Friday's game, the San Francisco Chronicle's Susan Slusser reports.

Analysis:

As Slusser notes, Joyce will likely sit again Sunday against lefty Dallas Keuchel, but he is supposedly just day-to-day. The A's are awfully short-handed, with Jaff Decker and Ryan LaMarre starting in the outfield along with Khris Davis on Saturday.
