Giants' Denard Span: Could return Saturday

The Giants are optimistic that Span (hip) could return to the lineup for Saturday's contest with the Padres, Henry Schulman of the San Francisco Chronicle reports.

Analysis:

Schulman also noted that Span may even be available off the bench for Friday's contest, although only time will tell if manager Bruce Bochy will push him back into action. He should still be considered day-to-day for the time being, but a return seems to be close.
