Pirates' Jung Ho Kang: Believe Kang will make it to USA

Pirates president Frank Coonelly said he believes the Pirates have the information to get Kang a visa to enter the United States, Sean Gentille of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reports.

Analysis:

The third baseman was denied entry into the country following the trial and eight-month suspended sentence in South Korea for his December DUI arrest, his third on record. Coonelly has his own history with DUI issues and aims to use that to appeal for his hitter permission to rejoin the club. This issue could drag on if Pittsburgh has trouble making a case, though in deep mixed fantasy leagues with ample bench spots, Kang could serve as a long-term stash option as he offers power potential whenever he's reinstated. Of course, more discipline from MLB or the Pirates may await him on top of all these legal restrictions.
