Reds' Scooter Gennett: Claimed off waivers by Reds

Gennett was claimed off waivers by the Reds on Tuesday, C. Trent Rosecrans of the Cincinnati Enquirer reports.

Analysis:

Gennett, 26, has only ever started at second base in the majors, but he's been working out in the outfield this spring in hopes of increasing his versatility. Rosecrans suggests Gennett could also see time at third base with Cincinnati. Gennett owns a .294/.330/.446 career batting line against right-handed pitching, compared to just .187/.237/.254 against lefties.
