Red Sox's Hanley Ramirez: Still no first base

Ramirez is still not ready to play first base, Dan Shaughnessy of The Boston Globe reports.

Analysis:

With three games remaining in the Grapefruit League slate, it appears unlikely we'll be seeing Ramirez play the field, although he can swing a bat without a pain and is hitting .300 with three homers in 50 at-bats. Manager John Farrell would like to deploy Ramirez at first base this season as a right-handed complement to Mitch Moreland, but those plans are on hold. Farrell used the right-handed-hitting Josh Rutledge at first base for the first time this spring over the weekend, a sign that the manager is planning a contingency for not having Ramirez available.
