Red Sox's Rick Porcello: Throws 98 pitches Thursday
Porcello allowed one run on two hits and one walk while striking out nine over six innings in a minor league game Thursday, Tim Britton of the Providence Journal reports.
Analysis:
Not much to report in this start against mostly Double-A hitters. Porcello got to work on all his pitches and came away feeling he executed well. He'll dial it back to about 60-75 pitches in his final spring start next Wednesday against the Nationals. The right-hander is cruising toward his Opening Day start April 3 against the Pirates.
