Brewers' Michael Blazek: Optioned by Brewers

Blazek was optioned to minor-league camp Wednesday, MLB.com's Adam McCalvy reports.

Analysis:

Blazek appeared in 86 games for the Brewers over the last two seasons, but he struggled mightily over the second half of last season and did so again this spring, so the team decided he would not break camp with the big club this year. If Blazek is able to iron some things out -- no easy task pitching with Triple-A Colorado Springs -- there is still a good chance he returns to the majors at some point in 2017.
