Red Sox's David Price: Visiting with doctors Friday

Price (elbow) will be re-evaluated by doctors Friday, and the next update on his status should come after that, according to John Farrell, Scott Lauber of ESPN.com reports. Farrell said his "gut read" was that Price could play catch Saturday.

Analysis:

Fantasy players and Red Sox brass are exhaling a bit after his reasonably positive prognosis, though the left-hander isn't out of the woods yet. He'll still need clearance to ramp up his activities again as long as his strained left elbow doesn't act up. Price's fantasy draft price will be determined by how much he can do in the coming weeks, though the risk of an untreated elbow injury may hang over him throughout 2017.
