Mets' Matt Harvey: Suffering from stiff neck

Harvey wore a heating pad on his neck while pitching against the Cardinals on Sunday to alleviate stiffness that almost caused him to skip his start, Anthony DiComo of MLB.com reports.

Analysis:

Harvey cruised through the first inning of his start but fell apart in the second when he allowed four hits, including a home run. The news that he was suffering from a stiff neck could be a possible explanation for why he seemed to fade as his start progressed. Assuming his neck stiffness is nothing serious, Harvey will look to continue knocking the rust off this spring, as he makes his way back from having his season cut short last July due to suffering from thoracic outlet syndrome.
