Here's Johnny.

Right-hander Johnny Cueto finally arrived at the San Francisco Giants' spring training facility Saturday, according to Chris Haft of MLB.com.

Cueto was in his native Dominican Republic tending to his ailing father. The 31-year-old hurler provided the organization with video of him pitching while away, and was attempting to secure a visa for his father so he could travel to the United States.

"So it was pretty serious, and because I am the head of the family, I felt that I needed to stay there just to make sure that nothing worse happened to him," Cueto said through a translator, according to Andrew Baggarly of the Mercury News.

"If I was to report when I was supposed to report, and something did happen to my dad, then it would have been worse to go back, taking into account the distance. I talked to the general manager, the manager, the pitching coach, and got their blessing to stay behind and take care of the family, as long as I did my workout at the academy."

Cueto also confirmed he would not pitch for the Dominican Republic in Round 1 of the World Baseball Classic. He and reliever Santiago Casilla were replaced on the 28-man roster by Fernando Abad and Cesar Valdez.

"I feel bad I won’t be able to be a part of the first round, but they know why I won’t be there," he said.
