Tigers' Nick Castellanos: Could bat second

Castellanos is a candidate to bat second this season, Evan Woodbery of MLive.com reports.

Analysis:

Castellanos did not bat second at any point in 2016, as he primarily filled the No. 5 or 6 slots in the lineup. Manager Brad Ausmus is looking to figure out the best way to line up his power bats. Castellanos is primed for a big season if he's healthy, but batting second would limit his RBI potential. It might set him up to score more runs, however, and he could see better pitches to hit batting in front of Miguel Cabrera every day.
