The Arizona Diamondbacks decided four major-league catchers wasn't enough and as such signed Hank Conger to a minor-league deal, the team announced Wednesday.

The club has been busy this offseason in their search for backstops, signing Jeff Mathis and Chris Iannetta, who joined Chris Herrmann and Oscar Hernandez on the roster.

Conger has played seven years with the majors for the Los Angeles Angels, Houston Astros, and Tampa Bay Rays. In 2016 with the Rays, he hit .194/.265/.306 with three home runs and 10 RBIs in 49 games. He's widely known for his elite pitch-framing ability, and should provide plenty of depth to catcher position.
