Padres will offer team store credit in exchange for Chargers gear
The city of San Diego is giving its citizens a good reason not to burn their Chargers jerseys now that the team has moved to Los Angeles.
Petco Park will host the Celebrate San Diego rally Feb. 11, and as part of the festivities, the Padres are offering $25 of credit at their team store in exchange for Chargers gear that is still in good condition.
To be clear, the city isn't celebrating the Padres' and Chargers' last-place finishes in their respective sports.
"Those of us fortunate enough to call San Diego home know exactly how special this city is," said Padres executive chairman Ron Fowler. "We are proud to join forces with so many local leaders in a celebration of our community."
In attendance will be Padres Hall of Famers Trevor Hoffman and Randy Jones, Padres manager Andy Green, and former Chargers Nick Hardwick and Rolf Benirschke.
