Athletics' Jaff Decker: Signs minor-league contract with A's

The Athletics signed Jaff Dacker to a minor-league deal with an invitation to Major League Spring Training on Tuesday, O'Connell Sports reports.

Analysis:

Decker was outrighted to Triple-A Durham by the Rays in October but he instead chose to enter free agency instead of heading to the minor-league club. The 23-year-old is a career .265/.389/.436 hitter in the minors and will get a chance to prove he's worth an MLB roster spot this upcoming spring.
