Marlins' Triple-A affiliate introduces new 'Baby Cakes' team name

The Baby Cakes are ready to run wild in Triple-A next season.

Previously known as the New Orleans Zephyrs, the Miami Marlins' minor-league affiliate in the Big Easy has renamed itself in unique fashion for the 2017 season:

The franchise announced back in April it was running a fan vote to replace the "Zephyrs" nickname after 25 years, which was initially brought over from Denver in 1993.

For the unaware, a "baby cake" represents the small plastic baby found inside King Cakes, which are a popular desert during Mardi Gras in New Orleans. That fact, however, didn't change the new name's reception from going exactly as you'd expect:
