Napoli predicted Indians would win 1-0 in Game 3

Mike Napoli may want to test his luck on a lottery ticket before the World Series is over.

Unimpressed with many outlets predicting a high-scoring affair for the first Fall Classic game at Wrigley Field since 1945, Napoli revealed after Game 3 that he had confidently called the Cleveland Indians' narrow 1-0 victory over the Chicago Cubs.

"We all watch MLB Network and ESPN," Napoli told Bob Nightengale of USA TODAY Sports, "and everyone was saying, 'It's going to be a 12-10 game'. I actually turned to (Andrew) Miller and was like, 'We're going to win 1-0 tonight.'

"You can ask Miller if I said it or not."

The commanding reliever didn't shy away from backing up his teammate's statement, though he did admit they weren't as specific as Napoli claims.

"He said it like, 'Hey, anything can happen in any of these games. It doesn’t matter if it’s 10-9 or 1-0,'" Miller revealed to Nightengale.

Though Napoli may have predicted the result in Game 3, its unclear if he foresaw him sitting out the next game, as manager Terry Francona opted to bench the clairvoyant first baseman for Game 4 on Saturday.
