Francona: It was too cold to use the bathroom

Ken Blaze / USA TODAY Sports

The chilly weather at Progressive Field combined with a game that lasted over four hours was not an ideal scenario for the bladder of Cleveland Indians manager Terry Francona in Game 2 of the World Series.

"It was cold," Francona told reporters following the Indians' 5-1 loss to the Chicago Cubs on Wednesday. "I mean, it was so cold I tried to go to the bathroom in the fourth inning and couldn't. That tells you enough."

As Francona described it, it was a "balmy" 43 degrees Fahrenheit for most of Game 2, with light rain reaching the ballpark in the late innings.

The forecast is calling for much more cooperative temperatures as the series shifts to Chicago for Games 3, 4, and 5. On Friday, it's calling for a low of 61 degrees.
