Watch: Ross' faceplant catch helps Lester out of early jam

David Ross is putting his body on the line in the final series of his major-league career.
With the Chicago Cubs already trailing the Cleveland Indians 2-0 in the first inning of Game 1 of the World Series, Jon Lester induced a bases-loaded pop-up in foul ground that Ross tracked down and caught for the final out. In making the grab, he crashed face-first into the padding and netting behind home plate.
Ross, who's retiring after the season due in part to his concussion history, appeared to be fine after making the play.
