Cardinals' Matt Holliday: Activated from DL

Holliday (thumb) was activated from the DL on Friday.

Analysis:

The seven-time All-Star is not expected to start this weekend but he will get a chance to say goodbye to the fans in St. Louis with one final pinch-hit at-bat. Holliday's long tenure with the Cardinals will come to an end after this season, as the team has decided to decline his option for 2017.
