Cardinals' Matt Holliday: Will be activated
Holliday (thumb) will be activated from the DL, Jenifer Langosch of MLB.com reports.
Analysis:
Holliday isn't ready to return to a starting role, but the Cardinals will activate him so he can soak in the adoration of the home fans in one final (pinch hit) at-bat. The Cardinals are expected to decline Holliday's option for 2017, allowing him to hit the open market.
