Red Sox's Drew Pomeranz: Ready for relieving

Pomeranz (forearm) feels he's ready to help the Red Sox out of the bullpen in the playoffs after throwing a 30-pitch session Thursday, Peter Abraham and Alex Speier of the Boston Globe reports.

Analysis:

Pomeranz feels he can step in right now based on his experience as a reliever as recently as last season, but Red Sox manager John Farrell has planned an inning for the left-hander before the end of the regular season to see how he looks and also evaluate him for a spot on the postseason roster.
