A-Rod to return as FOX Sports analyst for postseason

Alex Rodriguez's brief hiatus from Major League Baseball is over.

The former New York Yankees slugger announced Thursday that he'll rejoin FOX Sports as an analyst during the network's postseason coverage.

Rodriguez received high praise for his performance in the same role last year, despite admitting his first day "was scary."

While he hasn't officially retired, Rodriguez hasn't played since Aug. 12, prior to the Yankees releasing him. There were rumors that he could entertain moving to another organization for the rest of the season, though his agent quickly shot down the idea.

Rodriguez has spent the last two months traveling and spending time with his two daughters.
