The Miami Marlins remained unified Wednesday, as the team continued to mourn the loss of teammate Jose Fernandez.

Members of the organization congregated in front of the West Plaza at Marlins Park early in the afternoon and began the procession at 2:16 p.m. in honor of the right-hander's No. 16.

In addition to teammates and other members of the Marlins escorting Fernandez's hearse, fans lined the streets and chanted "Jose, Jose, Jose" as they made their way to a public visitation set up at St. Brendan Catholic Church in Miami.

A number of mourners decorated Marlins Park with gifts and messages in honor of Fernandez throughout the morning hours and wrote personal messages on a wall dedicated to the 24-year-old.

Fernandez, along with two of his friends, died early Sunday morning during a boating accident.
