Nationals' Wilson Ramos: Suffers torn ACL, done for season

Ramos (knee) has been diagnosed with a torn ACL, manager Dusty Baker announced Tuesday, CSN Mid-Atlantic reports.

Analysis:

This is a huge blow to the Nationals, as Ramos had the lowest catcher's ERA (3.48) in baseball and was slashing .307/.354/.496 on the season. Another catcher, Kyle Schwarber, missed the rest of this season and has been ruled out for the postseason after suffering a torn ACL on Apr. 7, so it seems likely that Ramos will miss at least a month or two of the 2017 season as he works his way back. Jose Lobaton is returning from an ankle injury and starting at catcher Tuesday, while Pedro Severino and Spencer Kieboom may also be asked to take on a larger role in Ramos' absence.
