Nationals C Wilson Ramos leaves game with right leg injury

WASHINGTON (AP) Washington Nationals catcher Wilson Ramos will have an MRI on his right knee after injuring it in a 14-4 loss to the Arizona Diamondbacks on Monday night.

Ramos was injured on a play at the plate in the sixth inning when he jumped for a relay throw and landed awkwardly on his right leg. Arizona's Brandon Drury scored but didn't make contact with Ramos.

After clutching at his right knee on the ground, Ramos had to be helped off the field by trainers. He was replaced by Pedro Severino.

Ramos tore the ACL and medial collateral ligament in his right knee in 2012.

''There's always a level of concern when you lose a guy of that caliber,'' Nationals manager Dusty Baker said. ''But that's why we have the depth that we have. Nobody's going to feel sorry for you. We've just got to next man up.''

Ramos is hitting .307 with 22 home runs and 80 RBIs this season for the playoff-bound Nationals, who clinched the NL East title on Saturday.

Washington was already without pitcher Stephen Strasburg (elbow), second baseman Daniel Murphy (strained glute) and outfielder Bryce Harper (thumb). Baker said X-rays on Harper's thumb came back negative and the manager expects Harper and Murphy to be ready to face the Los Angeles Dodgers when their NL Division Series opens Oct. 7.
