Reds' Brandon Finnegan: Five shutout innings against Brewers Sunday

Finnegan fired five shutout innings against the Brewers on Sunday, allowing just three hits while striking out four with no walks en route to his 10th win of the season.

Analysis:

Finnegan was superb Sunday, throwing 11 of 17 first-pitch strikes and pounding the zone at an impressive 72 percent clip, but he was removed after just 54 pitches as the Reds continue to monitor his workload. While he hasn't really shown signs of wearing down despite throwing a career-high 172 innings this season, Finnegan will likely be on a similarly tight leash in his last start of the season Friday versus the Cubs.
