Mariners' Nelson Cruz: Expects to play Monday despite sore wrist
Cruz said he expects to play Monday at Houston after aggravating his sore left wrist Sunday, the Seattle Times reports.
Analysis:
Cruz blasted two homers Sunday, giving him 41 for the season, the third consecutive year he's topped 40 home runs. He tweaked his wrist on a swing-and-miss the pitch before his second home run. He was pulled from the game in the eighth inning and had the wrist bandaged and with ice afterward. Cruz said he's been dealing with soreness in his wrist for a while. "The pain is when I extend it," Cruz said. "I still have my strength. It just hurts. The pain goes away."
