Athletics' Raul Alcantara: Done in by long ball in Saturday loss
Alcantara (1-2) gave up four earned runs on seven hits and a walk over six innings in a 5-0 loss to the Rangers on Saturday. He struck out six.
Analysis:
Elvis Andrus was the source of all of Alcantara's problems Saturday, with the veteran shortstop tagging him for a pair of two-run homers. He's now given up at least one round-tripper in each of his first four appearances, but the six innings represented his longest stint on the mound to date. Alcantara will look to finish the season on a high note against the Mariners next Friday.
