Marcus Stroman has constantly been the Toronto Blue Jays' spark plug on the mound, and verbal defender of the team off it.

After the New York Yankees and Blue Jays tussled on the infield after some beanballs were thrown, Chase Headley had some choice words for Toronto, in essence saying it got a taste of its own medicine.

Headley went on to specifically say that Stroman "was friggin screaming at our guys when he's pitching, yelling at our guys to get off the field when he'd strike someone out."

A day later, Stroman shot back, backing up himself and his squad.

"Chase Headley has no idea who I'm talking about," the right-hander told reporters. "Nor do I care at all what Chase Headley has to say, to be honest with you."

It's no secret that Stroman wears his heart on his sleeve. He added that while it may come off as abrasive, he's spoken to veterans in the game that have assured him never to change and to continue being himself.

"I couldn't care less what other teams think of me or my team," he said. "We play with a lot of passion. We play with a lot of heart. And we're not boring. Boring people have problems with that. But we're not concerned with them."
