Red Sox's David Price: Gives up five earned over six frames in Saturday no-decision

Price didn't factor into the decision against the Yankees on Saturday, giving up five earned runs on nine hits over six innings. He struck out seven.

Analysis:

The hard-throwing left-hander didn't have his best stuff, but did induce 12 swinging strikes overall. Price was touched up early by Brett Gardner for an RBI triple in the third and Gary Sanchez followed with a 436-foot shot over the Green Monster that plated the latter. Andrew Romine then followed with a two-RBI double to deep left in the fourth, leaving the Red Sox in a 5-2 hole at that point. Price had come in to Saturday with victories in his last seven decisions, all quality starts, so Saturday's effort was his poorest in well over a month. He'll look to bounce back against the Orioles next Thursday.
