After more than two months since he last took the hill, Los Angeles Dodgers ace Clayton Kershaw will finally throw in a game.

The 28-year-old left-hander will pitch in a rehab game for Class-A Advanced Rancho Cucamonga this weekend, according to Dodgers president of baseball operations Andrew Friedman.

Kershaw has been out of action with a herniated disk in his back since late June, but did toss a successful simulated game on Tuesday.

"My guess is Kersh wants to pitch in a major-league game tomorrow, but with the (two months) he's missed, my guess is the next step will be a minor-league assignment," Friedman said. "It will take a little time to build him up to be strong through September and October as well. All of it is speculative."

The three-time Cy Young winner and former National League MVP was spectacular before going down with the injury, posting an 11-2 record with a 1.79 ERA, remarkably walking just nine hitters in 121 innings pitched, while striking out 145.
