Richard (1-3) threw seven shutout inning in a 1-0 victory over the Marlins on Saturday. He also struck out three and walked one.

Base runners were aboard most of the night, and he only struck out a handful of hitters, but Richard stranded seven base runners to preserve the 1-0 victory. He also retired the final seven batters he faced. Richard has appeared in 30 games, three of which as a starter since coming to San Diego from the Chicago Cubs at the trade deadline. With the Padres, he is 1-2 with a 1.40 ERA, 1.241 WHIP and 14 strikeouts in 19.1 innings.
