Blue Jays' Jose Bautista: Will play in simulation game Wednesday

Bautista (knee) will play a simulated game on Wednesday, and the decision about his impending activation from the disabled list -- expected to happen Thursday -- will be made afterwards, Shi Davidi of Sportsnet reports.

Analysis:

Bautista is still on track for a Thursday return, but manager John Gibbons wants to make sure he's ready. Also of note, Gibons said Bautista will spend more time at DH in order to ease the pressure on his left knee. There will likely be more updates on Bautista's status once he completes the simulated game.
