Athletics' Sean Manaea: Locks down Cleveland for fifth win

Manaea (5-8) allowed one run on three hits and two walks with eight strikeouts over seven innings in a win Tuesday over Cleveland.

Analysis:

This was one of Manaea's best starts, as it was just the fourth time he has completed seven innings and the third time he has reached eight strikeouts. Manaea's only mistake was a solo home run in the sixth inning by Chris Gimenez. He has to keep the ball in the yard to make the next step -- Manaea has allowed eight home runs over his last six starts, which is why he has a mediocre 4.33 ERA despite a brilliant 33:10 K:BB over 37.1 innings.
