Padres' Edwin Jackson: Takes fourth loss against Cubs
Jackson (3-4) allowed five runs on seven hits and four walks with two strikeouts over five innings in a loss Monday to the Cubs.
Analysis:
Jackson has lost three straight in brutal fashion after a promising start to his time in San Diego's rotation. He has now allowed 18 runs in just 14 innings his past three times out, with an ugly 12:10 K:BB in that span. The Cubs touched him up for three home runs Monday night, and that was his main problem his last time in the rotation in 2014 with the Cubs. That season, he surrendered 18 home runs in 140.2 innings (1.2 HR/9), a big factor in his awful 6.33 ERA.
