Reds' Jose Peraza: Has career night Saturday versus Dodgers

Peraza went 3-for-5 with a homer, three RBI and two runs scored Saturday against the Dodgers.

Analysis:

Peraza, who was recalled Saturday to play in his first big league game since July 31, took over at shortstop for the banged up Zack Cozart (knee) on Saturday night. It was the 22-year-old's 75th MLB game, and by far his best. It marked the first time in Peraza's career that he had more than two hits in a game, as well as the first time he's picked up more than two RBI in a contest. Unless Cozart hits the DL -- which isn't expected as of now -- Peraza isn't relevant outside of daily leagues looking for a cheap punt play.
