Giants' Denard Span: Out Sunday, as expected

Span (quad) remains out of the lineup Sunday against the Nationals, Henry Schulman of the San Francisco Chronicle reports.

Analysis:

Span was considered doubtful for Sunday's contest, so it's not too surprising to see the veteran sit this one out. With a team day off Monday, the veteran will get two straight days to rest his ailing quad. In the meantime, Angel Pagan will start in center field, while Mac Williamson gets the call in left.
