Padres' Matt Kemp: Deal to Atlanta agreed to, pending physicals

The Padres have agreed to trade Kemp to the Braves for Hector Olivera, pending physicals, David O'Brien of the Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports.

Analysis:

Kemp is still listed as the starting right fielder for the Padres on Saturday, and he was spotted taking batting practice with his teammates, but it sounds there's a chance he could be scratched. Olivera was scratched from the lineup at Triple-A Gwinnett. San Diego is expected to pay a sizable chunk of the remaining money due to Kemp if the deal goes through, which is not a given as Kemp reportedly failed his physical when he was dealt from Los Angeles (but the Padres completed the trade anyway).
