Washington Nationals second baseman Daniel Murphy left Friday's contest against the San Francisco Giants in the sixth inning after experiencing leg tightness for the second straight night.

Nationals manager Dusty Baker said Murphy was removed as a precaution, one inning after he appeared to slow down running the bases following a near home run off Jeff Samardzija in the fifth.

He was replaced at second by Trea Turner.

Murphy is having an MVP-caliber season, hitting .351/.391/.619 with 20 home runs and 75 RBIs prior to Friday's contest.
