Baltimore Orioles third baseman Manny Machado used not only his legs, but his brain to fool the defense of the Toronto Blue Jays on Friday.

Machado somehow managed to score from first base on a routine ground out by teammate Chris Davis.

With Machado standing on first base, Davis grounded into a shift on the right side of the infield, which allowed him to round second and head for third, which was left uncovered.

After Blue Jays first baseman Justin Smoak's errant throw got away from catcher Russell Martin, Machado scurried home for the game-tying run.

Unfortunately for Baltimore, Toronto used a three-run third inning to walk away victorious and move within a half game of their division counterparts for the AL East lead.
