Giants' Buster Posey: Out of lineup Friday

Posey is out of the lineup Friday against the Nationals.

Analysis:

He will sit for the first time since the All-Star break -- Posey was afforded a couple games at DH last week with stops in Boston and New York -- as Trevor Brown takes over behind the plate. Posey doubled in Thursday's loss, his first extra-base hit since July 16. While his average is down from previous years, Posey is running more than ever before and is on pace to match his home run total of 19 from a year ago.
