Phillies' Aaron Nola: Beats Braves for first win in nearly two months

Nola (6-9) pitched five innings, allowing three runs, eight hits and three walks while striking out five Braves in Thursday's win.

Analysis:

It's hard not to be grateful for his first win since June 5, but Nola left a lot on the table in this one. He allowed just two hits through four scoreless frames before running into trouble in the fifth, and not making it back out in the sixth for a chance at a quality start. Nola has failed to deliver on high expectations this season, although his 3.08 FIP and 3.07 xFIP suggest he has the potential to right the ship down the stretch. The righty draws the Giants at home Wednesday for his next outing.
