Rangers' Drew Stubbs: Will begin rehab assignment Monday
Stubbs (toe) is scheduled to begin a rehab assignment at Triple-A Round Rock on Monday, Stefan Stevenson of the Fort Worth Star-Telegram reports.
Analysis:
Stubbs has been sidelined since late May with a sprained left toe, so he figures to spend at least most of the week with Round Rock before the Rangers would consider activating him. Even with Shin-Soo Choo (back) hitting the DL, the Rangers boast plenty of depth in the outfield, making it likely that Stubbs would be no better than a fourth or fifth outfielder for the club once he returns.
