Nationals' Ryan Zimmerman: Expected back Tuesday

Zimmerman (ribs) is expected to be activated from the DL on Tuesday, Chelsea Janes of the Washington Post reports.

Analysis:

Zimmerman went 2-for-4 with a run in his first rehab assignment game for High-A Potomac on Thursday and figures to get several more tuneups before returning to the majors shortly after the weekend. The 31-year-old was placed on the DL on July 8 with a left rib cage strain but has progressed through his rehab with no setbacks. He holds a .221/.284/.402 this season with the Nationals.
