Nationals' Ryan Zimmerman: Plays catch Friday

Zimmerman (ribs) played catch in the outfield prior to Friday's game, the Washington Post reports.

Analysis:

The Nats are still hopeful Zimmerman will only need close to the minimum 15 days on his DL stint, but manager Dusty Baker expressed some caution Friday. "It's hard to simulate body rotation on a 95 [mph fastball]," Baker said. "You just don't see 95s in practice. That's not the objective of practice. We're doing all we can do. Zim's working. He told me he was taking three sessions a day to try to get right."
