Daniel Murphy wishes he could spend every day playing against the New York Mets.

The Washington Nationals' second baseman continued his torrid play this season against his former team, crushing a home run Saturday off reliever Antonio Bastardo in the seventh inning to collect two of his four RBIs on the night.

Murphy, whose .349 batting average currently tops the National League, has been on fire against the Mets since Washington signed him in the offseason. In 12 games against his former club this season, Murphy is slashing .409/.426/.795 with six home runs and a total 19 RBIs.

To Mets manager Terry Collins, it doesn't come as much of a shock.

"He's pumped up to play against us and show us we made a mistake," Collins told MLB.com. "It's human nature."

He finished Saturday's contest 3-for-4 and only a triple shy of completing the cycle.
