When it rains, it pours.

New York Mets All-Star outfielder Yoenis Cespedes left Friday's game against the Washington Nationals after three innings due to a right quad strain, according to Anthony DiComo of MLB.com.

Cespedes claimed to have sustained the injury while fielding a Daniel Murphy base hit in the third inning. He told reporters that a similar injury occurred while a member of the Tigers in 2015, and it only sidelined him briefly.

"Hopefully it doesn't translate into me going on the 15-day DL," Cespedes told reporters through an interpreter.

The injury does mean that Cespedes, who was voted a starter in Tuesday's All-Star Game, is now in jeopardy of missing out on San Diego.

Manager Terry Collins, who saw his injury ward grow threefold Friday with Cespedes, Matt Harvey, and Noah Syndergaard all suffering various ailments, is expecting his team to keep plugging away despite being short-handed.

"We're just going to have to keep going," Collins said. "I've told you before: No one in baseball feels sorry for us. And so we'll just have to suck it up and come in tomorrow and get ready to play with the bodies we have available."
